Template talk:Coal

I've seen this template be used in pages to mean two things, depending on the page:

  1. Sometimes to say that the page is just a stub and needs more Expanding.
  2. While other times it's used to mark that the topic itself is irredeemable coal.

Yet in the irredeemable coal case, the template still says you WILL help by expanding it, which doesn't make sense. This template serves two conflicting purposes and should be refactored to a second distinct template. Which of the two points should we let officially take over the meaning of Template:Coal? Can dusty coals be turned into shining diamonds? "Coal" is used as a synonym of bad, cringe, locked, etc. Even if editors endorse Template:Coal in pages to mean stub, (meaning 1) readers could take the easy implication that it simply means bad. (meaning 2) And what should be the name and look of the second template to bear refuge to the meaning that is picked against? If, in the future Template:Coal comes to strictly mean meaning 2, should we use instead a Template:Stub? Template:Cleanup also exists. Protect this page
